Easter

Easter
The Passover
The Festival of Unleavened Bread

The festival of unleavened bread is vital to us at LFAS3 Church. Therefore, we celebrate it every year during Easter with the Passover meal and Holy Communion before Christ’s arrest. We also have another meal on the last day of the unleavened bread festival, a few days after Christ’s resurrection.

We begin Easter on Palm Sunday: Jesus’s Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem. Read LFAS3 Church’s Booklet to learn why it is so meaningful to us to celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread during Easter.

“They brought the donkey and the colt and laid their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. A massive crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed were shouting: “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!” (Matthew 21:7-9).

The Great Lord Jesus multiplies Five Loaves of Bread and Two fish.

“And He directed the crowds to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, He kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people” (Matthew 14:19).

“They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over” (Luke 9:17).

Holy Communion: The Last Supper of the Lord Jesus Christ

And He took the bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body, given for you; do this in remembrance of Me” (Luke 22:19).

“In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me” (1 Corinthians 11:25).

The Crucifixion

Jesus Christ’s Crucifixion and Resurrection are equally important in the Christian faith, for they fulfil what God Almighty has spoken through the Prophets, King David in Psalm 22 and Isaiah in Isaiah 53 are some of those.

The Crucifixion and Death of our Lord Jesus Christ are the confirmation He has done and finished what He came to earth to do. He has defeated Satan and demons and doomed them to be destroyed in hell for eternity. He has ransomed us, and now, given that we accept that Salvation, welcome it and work hard by loving and obeying Him to maintain it, and do not return to the darkness from where He has freed us, we will be with Him when He Comes Again.

The Resurrection is the proof that Jesus Christ, our Lord, has conquered death and lives again in Heaven and in us, given that we are indeed His sheep who remain in His love, live by His words and hate what He hates: sins, giving all the faithful believers in Christ the beautiful Hope of the Resurrection of the dead when He will Come Again.

“Surely He took on our infirmities and carried our sorrows; yet we considered Him stricken by God, struck down and afflicted."(Isaiah 53:4)

But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).

Our Lord on the Cross

“When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished.” And bowing His head, He yielded up His spirit” (John 19:30).

The Resurrection of Christ

The Word, The King of kings, and His Resurection

The Love of Jesus Christ for all. The Love of His Father for all.

Christ has RISEN!

Jesus said,
“I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in Me, though he dies, he shall live. And everyone who lives in Me and believes in Me will never ever die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26).
